WTC Relief: When disaster struck in NYC on 9/11 2001 everyone was frightened and confused.
The Russo Civic Association rallied behind the efforts to provide
relief to the hundreds of rescue workers at Ground Zero. Collecting and
receiving numerous donations such as: medical supplies, clothing, hand tools,
construction supplies, toiletries, water, dog food and any other items requested
by the American Red Cross. A special thank you to the Hoboken Board of
Education for allowing us to use their refrigerated truck to bring ice to ground
zero and to the Bar and Restaurant owners for giving us the barrels of ice.
The Russo Civic Association was immediately recognized as a main drop
off site by the American Red Cross. |
